GANTA, NIMBA COUNTY, LIBERIA-Finance Minister Samuel Tweah has attributed the positive economic progress being experienced in the Country to a major financial reform instituted by the Government of Liberia.
Minister Tweah said:” The significant progress of the Liberian economy has defeated critics’ argument in 2018 that the Coalition for Democratic Change (CDC) Government was not going to pay salaries and other arrears.”
Speaking Monday, July 11,2022, at the cabinet retreat in Ganta, Nimba County, he said the CDC Government’s performance, with its monetary policy, has given banks confidence in doing business with government, unlike in the past.
He added that the proper management of the country’s wage bill has also strengthened the confidence of the international community in doing business with Government.
Minister Tweah, however, said why progress is being made, there is a need for more education on the Public Financial Management (PFM) Law across government’s entities.
