MONROVIA, LIBERIA-Finance Minister Samuel Tweah has provided clarity on sticky issues in the restated National Budget.
It followed concerns raised by senators following the submission of the recast budget by the House of Representatives for concurrence.
Minister Tweah said:” The inclusion of thirty-million United States Dollars from High Power Exploration Incorporated is legal and intended to supplement the budget.”
The Minister noted that it followed the Government’s move to enter into a framework agreement with the High-Power Exploration Incorporated.
He maintained that as part of the framework agreement, the Government will receive thirty-million US Dollars to replace ArcelorMittal’s contribution in the national budget.
Minister Tweah said the gap was created in the budget due to Government’s failure to ratify the Third Amendment of ArcelorMittal deal.
