MONROVIA, LIBERIA-Montserrado County District-7 Representative Solomon George has called for immediate halt of all student politics at the University of Liberia (UL).
Representative George said his call was triggered by the constant involvement of some UL based student movements in national politics.
According to him, President Weah needs to take the decision in order to restore calm and normal academic activities at the State run university.
The District-7 Representative alleged that members of the Student Unification Party (SUP) have allowed themselves to be used by opposition politicians to cause chaos.
Speaking during a town hall meeting in West Point on Tuesday, August 16, 2022, Representative Solomon George urged President Weah to take firm action against actors bent on hampering the smooth governing of the State.
At the same time, youths of the District are urging officials of Government to double their efforts, if they are to successfully implement the Pro-Poor Agenda.
According to them, most Government officials are lagging behind in their respective duties.
They, however, singled out few officials, including the Commerce Minister, the Chief of Protocol at the Executive Mansion and Representative Solomon George, who are greatly helping ordinary citizens.
The comments were made on behalf of the youths by Joshua Badio, the District Youth Chairman.
In a petition to President Weah, Mr. Badio appealed for Government to elevate the N.V.Massaquoi School to a senior high level.
He named TVET Education, sanitation and hygiene as well as scholarship opportunities as crucial needs for the District.
