MONROVIA, LIBERIA-The House of Representatives has mandated the Ministry of Internal Affairs and the Liberia Land Authority (LLA) to submit to it a report on all land cases across the Country, progress made and financial implication on or before September 15, 2022.

Plenary took the decision on Tuesday, August 30, 2022, following the appearances of authorities of the Ministry of Internal Affairs, the LLA and the National Council of Chiefs and Elders of Liberia.

Addressing Plenary, the Chairman of the LLA, Adam Manobah, said:” The root cause of land conflict can be attributed to the lack of citizens’ interest being spelled out during the negotiation of concessions.”

For his part, Deputy Internal Affairs Minister for Administration, Momolu Johnson, said ongoing boundary harmonization by the Ministry and partners can be achieved through adequate budget appropriation.

Meanwhile, the Chairman of the National Council of Chiefs and Elders, Chief Zanzan Karwor, called for the inclusion of the Council into mitigating land conflicts across the Country.
