MONROVIA, LIBERIA-Monrovia City Mayor, Jefferson Koijee, has described President George Weah as a liberator of young people in Liberia.
Mayor Koijee said:” The Liberian Leader has shown a high level of nationalism and love for his Country.”
He stressed that President Weah remains passionate about a commitment to change the situation of thousands of young people in the Country.
The Monrovia City Mayor, at the same time, urged young people to see their Country positively and stop the blackmail and provocations.
He spoke on Monday, September 5, 2022, at program marking the honoring of the first recipient of the George Weah Nationalism Award held at the Monrovia City Hall.
Meanwhile, the recipient of the honor, Kimberline Annan, lauded the Monrovia City Government for her selection as the first recipient of the award.
Ms. Annan said:” Such honor is crucial to creating an avenue for Liberians in the diaspora to contribute to the development of the Country.”
She noted that the recognition will be used to promote education, pledging to work with stakeholders and partners in promoting education.
The George Weah Honor of Nationalism is aimed at recognizing the role played by Liberians in the diaspora in relations to the development of their country.
