MONROVIA, LIBERIA-The petition for naturalization of the former Chairperson of the Liberia Anti-Corruption Commission (LACC) has suffered another setback at Criminal Court ‘B’, due to a serious legal blunder.
Cllr. Ndubusi Nwabudike’s citizenship petition was scheduled for hearing on Monday, September 12, 2022, but was moved to another date due to his legal team’s failure to provide a crucial document to the Court.
His lawyers failed to attach the Justice Ministry’s investigative report, which cleared him for naturalization after his Liberian citizenship was questioned recently before the Supreme Court of Liberia.
According to ELBC Judiciary Reporter, the abrupt cancellation of Monday’s proceedings means Cllr, Nwabudike’s legal team will have to withdraw his previous petition and re-file a new one, before the Court begins hearing as provided for by law.
The former LACC Boss and his lawyer, Cllr. Alexander Zoe, left the Court in complete disappointment, following the Court’s action.
