Prison Fellowship Launches project…..

MONROVIA, LIBERIA-Prison Fellowship Liberia has formally launched a project seeking to provide scholarship opportunities to hundreds of school-going children whose parents are in prisons across the country.

The project dubbed “Breaking the Circle” also seeks to provide book bags, text books and medical insurance for the beneficiaries.

Prison Fellowship Liberia Program Coordinator, Karpee Parton, said:” The initiative will motivate the children to stay in school and avoid vices that could lend them behind bars.”

Reverend Parton added that not only is the organization working with State actors to ensure that inmates’ rights are observed, it is also catering to some needs of the prisoners and crime victims.

He said Prison Fellowship Liberia headed by, Reverend Francis Kollie, will not waiver on its quest to ensure that the children of inmates obtain education and other marketable skills.

The program was graced by representatives of the beneficiaries, school administrators, and other education authorities among others.
