MONROVIA, LIBERIA-The Internal Audit Agency (IAA) has embarked upon a robust internal reform process to increase effectiveness and efficiency at the entity.
IAA said the reform process is a part of a five-year strategic plan aimed at improving controls across the Government of Liberia, enhancing internal audit functions and human resource capacity building.
The Director of Communication at the IAA, Adolphus Kawah, told a news conference over the weekend that the initiative will increase internal audit functions and public confidence in the public sector.
Mr. Kawah said:” Under the strategic plan, the entity would be able to transition audit processes from manual to automation for real time reporting, efficiency and quality service delivery.”
According to him, the reform process will ensure the enhancement of staff capacity building, and improve interaction and coordination with stakeholders.
Meanwhile, the IAA Director of Communication has clarified that the ongoing reform process is not intended to censure the work of past managements, but to conform to current day’s realities.
