MONROVIA, LIBERIA-President George Weah has assured Liberians living in Europe of his government’s commitment to rapidly develop the Country.
President Weah said:” My Government has been working assiduously to implement its development plan, the Pro-Poor Agenda for Prosperity and Development.”
He noted that the reality of promises has already set in by the levels of development taking place across the Country.
The Liberian Leader made the assertions on Monday, November 14, 2022, in Paris, France, during an interaction with dozens of EU based Liberians.
President Weah urged citizens to remain resilient and cultivate the culture of engaging in peaceful dialogue with government on issues aimed at moving the Country forward.
President George Weah travelled to France to participate in the Paris Peace Forum, and is expected to hold a meeting with President Emmanuel Macron.
At the same time, the Liberian Community in Europe has lauded the Liberian Government for stability in the exchange rate, and President Weah’s free tuition policy at all public universities and colleges.
They also commended the Liberian Government for passing the Fiscal Year 2023 Scorecard of the US Government’s Millennium Challenge Corporation, as well as other ongoing development initiatives.
The EU based Liberians, however, urged Government to strengthen its communication strategies in order to get the message of its initiatives across.
They named a number of challenges, including difficulty in renewing their passports.
The EU Liberians comprising students, residents and the Congress for Democratic Change (CDC) partisans further vowed to support the re-election bid of President Weah in 2023.
They also presented gifts to the Liberian Leader, as a sign of their true appreciation to government for its efforts in the rebuilding process of the Country.
