MONROVIA, LIBERIA-President George Weah has consoled his Holiness, Pope Francis and Head of the Catholic Church for the death of Pope Emeritus Benedict XVI.
President Weah extended heartfelt condolences to Pope Francis, the Government and people of the Vatican and bereaved family, on behalf of the Government and people of Liberia for the irreparable loss sustained.
The Liberian Leader consolation message was contained in a Foreign Ministry released issued on Tuesday, January 4, 2023.
The release also quotes President Weah as saying Pope Emeritus Benedict XVI will be remembered as a renowned theologian and dedicated leader.
The Liberian Chief Executive then prayed and hoped that the Almighty God will grant his Holiness and the Roman Catholic Church the needed strength and comfort, during this time of grief.
