MONROVIA, LIBERIA-More than one-thousand farmers are to shortly benefit from the distribution of assorted farming tools in the Western Region.
According to ELBC Correspondent, the targeted counties are Bomi, Gbarpolu, and Grand Cape Mount.
The distribution is being done by the Liberian Government, through the Ministry of Agriculture, with support from the African Development Bank and International Foundation for Agriculture Development (IFAD).
The Western Region Coordinator at the Ministry of Agriculture, Edmond Greave, said:” The distribution of tools is aimed at upgrading and improving the livelihoods of potential farmers through modern production.”
Our Correspondent quotes Mr. Greaves as saying the initiative is also intended to transition smallholder farmers from hand production to modern production to increase production.
