MONROVIA, LIBERIA-The Deputy Director General for Operations and Technical Services at the Liberia Broadcasting System (LEC) has expressed deep sadness and shock over the passing of fallen Reporter, Naway Gumeh.
Mr. Tepente Young said:” The deceased was a promising young media professional who contributed immensely to his duty, during his stay at the System”.
According to Mr. Young, the passing of the late Gumeh was quite unfortunate for the System, adding that the incident has created an irreplaceable vacuum in that capacity.
At the official opening of the Signing of the Book of Condolences on Wednesday, May 3, 2023, at the compounds of the LBS, Deputy Director Young, however, conveyed warmness to the bereaved family of the fallen Reporter, while, urging them to take solace in the Lord.
He then frowned on reports that the late Gumeh was not treated well during his stay at the System.
Director Young said:” Contrary to what is being speculated, the late Gumeh was cherished by the System, and the System was all along steadfast in the welfare of the deceased, including its entire workforce”.
Meanwhile, the LBS Deputy Director General for Media Services, Sober George, says fallen Reporter Gumeh’s achievements will forever remain indelible in the heart of the System.
He said:” The attributes of the former Executive Mansion Reporter were exceptional, and the newsroom with which he worked will forever miss him for his meritorious services”.
Director George also committed the System to stand with the deceased family in this time of bereavement.
