MONROVIA, LIBERIA-President George Weah has returned home, after attending the Coronation of King Charles III in London.
King Charles III was crowned on May 3, 2023, after the death of Queen Elizabeth II in 2022.
President Weah and his entourage left the Country last week Tuesday, May 2, 2023, to form part of the events leading to the Coronation of His Majesty, King Charles III, and his wife, Camilla.
The President and his delegation include Foreign Minister Dee-Maxwell Kemayah, Information Minister Ledgerhood Rennie, Defense Minister Daniel Ziakan, and Maritime Commissioner Eugene Nagbe, among others.
Meanwhile, President George Weah congratulated the European Union (EU) on the occasion commemorating the 73rd Anniversary of the Schuman Delegation.
A Foreign Ministry release issued quotes President Weah as saying the relations between Liberia and the EU have been characterized by longstanding and genuine friendship.
In his message to Charles Michel, President of the European Council, President Weah recounted the EU’s continued support of the Pro-Poor Agenda for his Government.
The Liberian Leader also expressed confidence in the bonds of friendship subsisting between Europe and Liberia will be further strengthened.
President George Weah welcomed new efforts to intensify bilateral and multilateral partnerships for the promotion of international cooperation and enhancement of peace in the world.
