MONROVIA, LIBERIA-The Liberia Immigration Service (LIS), and the Community Watch Forum of Liberia have entered into a partnership deal to ensure peaceful elections are held in October this year.

LIS Director for Operations, Col. Danny Sartee, pledged his entity’s collaboration with Community Watch Forum to boost border surveillance across the country.

Col. Sartee said:” The lack of security presence at some entry points could undermine the peace and security of the country, especially during this electioneering period.”

He lauded the Community Watch Forum for the partnership deal, stressing the safety of the nation and its people remains paramount above personal interest.

Col. Sartee spoke on Sunday, July 2, 2023, at the unveiling of the Operational Plan by the Community Watch Forum of Liberia ahead of the October elections.

Meanwhile, Community Watch Forum of Liberia National Chairman, Nyanti Kaffey, has unveiled the Operational Plan of the Forum ahead of the 2023 elections.

Mr. Kaffey said:” The Forum has recruited and trained more than eight thousand individuals to work along with the joint security during the elections.”

He boasted of his organization’s collaboration with the National Security in maintaining peace and security throughout the country, since its establishment.

Mr. Kaffey warned against vices that tend to instigate violence during and after the elections.
