MONROVIA, LIBERIA-Unity Party (UP) Standard Bearer, Joseph Boakai, and officials of the Party risk being arrested and incarcerated for failure to pay rent and the Worjoloh McClain Enterprise Incorporated.
In 2021, the court evicted the UP from its former headquarters in Congo Town and ordered the UP to pay two-hundred thousand USD to McClain for rent arrears and wrongful withholding of the property.
According to FrontPage Africa News Desk Editor, Lennart Dodoo, the court in its previous ruling gave the UP, July 3, 2023, as the deadline to make full payment of the arrears owed to McClain.
Mr. Dodoo told ELBC on Tuesday, July 4, 2023, that the stipulated deadline has passed and the UP is yet to settle the rents.
Mr. Dodoo said the Unity Party Standard Bearer, Ambassador Joseph Boakai, along with officials and the party might be arrested and incarcerated at the Monrovia Central Prison if nothing is done about the matter.
