MONROVIA, LIBERIA-The Liberian Senate has paid homage to fallen Gbarpolu County Senator, Daniel Naatehn, following the arrival of his body Tuesday evening at the Roberts International Airport via Brussels Airlines from India.
The body has been deposited at the St. Moses Funeral Home for preservation.
Turning over the body to the funeral home, Senate Pro-Tempt Albert Chie said:” The death of Senator Naatehn is a great loss and heartbreaking moment for the Senate.”
The Grand Kru County Senator also consoled the bereaved family and pledged the Senate’s unwavering support to give the fallen Senator a befitting burial.
The arrival of the remains of the Gbarpolu County Senator was witnessed by scores of Senators, supporters of the Alternative National Congress (ANC), family members, and sympathizers, among others.
Meanwhile, the Vice Standard Bearer of the ANC, Charlyne Brumskine, has described the death of the Party‘s Chairman, Daniel Naatehn, as a sad moment and deep sorrow to members of the Party.
The ANC Vice-Presidential Candidate said:” The late Senator was a beacon of ideology, democracy, and good governance, describing his death as a great loss to the party and country.”
She added that his sense of keeping the party balanced and peaceful will be missed by members and supporters of the ANC.
In remarks, the Chairman of Gbarpolu County Legislative Caucus, Cllr. Kanie Wesso said the late Senator will be missed for his boldness and strong position on national issues.
Cllr. Kanie Wesso called on members of the Caucus, citizens of Gbarpolu County, and sympathizers to work together to give the fallen Senator a befitting burial.
