MONROVIA, LIBERIA-ELBC’s investigation has revealed that Associate Justice, Joseph Nagbe, has requested early retirement and not resignation as claimed by detractors. An authoritative judicial official quoting family sources confirmed the retirement request by Justice Nagbe.
Consistent with constitutional provisions, Justice Nagbe’s retirement request is subject to either Executive or Judicial approval.
Justice Nagbe joined the Full Bench of the Supreme Court in 2018 following his appointment by President George Weah, replacing retired Associate Justice, Philip Banks.
Before his ascendency to the nation’s highest court, Justice Joseph Nagbe also served as Senator of Sinoe County.
Meanwhile, President George Weah has granted a retirement request from Associate Justice, Joseph Nagbe.
The President also nominated Justice Minister, Cllr. Musa Dean, as Associate Justice of the Supreme Court of Liberia.
According to an Executive Mansion release issued recently, Cllr. Dean will replace Justice Nagbe if confirmed by the Liberian Senate.
