MONROVIA, LIBERIA-Health Minister Dr. Louise Kpoto has assured the building of a vibrant health system under her stewardship.
Dr. Kpoto said:” My administration will also foster transparency and accountability in the Health Sector.”
She committed on Wednesday, February 14, 2024, when she officially took over from outgoing Health Minister, Dr. Wilhelmina Jallah.
Dr. Kpoto also disclosed that the Government of Liberia and its partners are working out modalities to introduce National Health Insurance in Liberia, adding that the initiative, if implemented, will improve healthcare delivery in the Country.
Meanwhile, the World Health Organization (WHO) has assured the Government of Liberia of its continued support for Liberia’s healthcare delivery.
WHO Country Representative, Dr. Peter Clement, said:” The entity will work along the Health Ministry to combat maternal mortality alleviation in Liberia.”
Dr. Clement praised the outgoing Health Minister Dr. Wilhelmina Jallah for gains made in the Health Sector, and urged the new Health Minister, Dr. Louise Kpoto, to do more for the betterment of the Country’s healthcare delivery.
