MONROVIA, LIBERIA-The Acting County Attorney of Montserrado has accused State Prosecutors of misappropriating one hundred fifty thousand US Dollars allocated for prosecution.
The money, according to Cllr. Swaliho Sesay was allotted for the State Prosecutors during the murder trial of former Chief Justice Gloria Musu Scott and three family members.
Cllr. Sesay also alleged that the money in question was given to former Solicitor General, Cllr. Nyenati Tuan, for transportation, accommodation, and miscellaneous costs.
He accused State Prosecutors in the murder trial, Cllrs. Bobby Livingston, Adolphus Karnuah, and others diverted the funds to their personal use.
However, Cllr. Livingston clarified that the Government of Liberia provided a Prosecution Fund of one-hundred-thirty-one thousand U SD during the trial contrary to Cllr. Sesay’s claim of one-hundred-fifty thousand US Dollars.
Cllr. Livingston told a news conference on Wednesday, February 14, 2024, that Cllr. Sesay received a three-thousand US dollar share of the fund.
Cllr. Bobby Livingston further clarified that Prosecution Funds are legal and provided to the County Attorney and specialized courts as required by law.
