MONROVIA, LIBERIA-The new Commissioner General of the Liberia Revenue Authority (LRA) has outlined professionalism, integrity, staff welfare, and development as top priorities of his administration.
The LRA Commissioner General, Dorbor Jallah, said:” I will lead an effort towards securing full autonomy for the LRA to bolster performance to exceed the billion-dollar revenue goal.”
Speaking on Friday, March 1, 2024, when Mr. Jallah assumed leadership of the LRA, he underscored the vital role of revenue collection in national growth and development.
He acknowledged the efforts of employees are surpassing challenges to elevate domestic revenue to six hundred to six hundred million and emphasized the pivotal role of the LRA in advancing the Government of Liberia’s development agenda.
The LRA Commissioner General urged staffers to maintain unwavering integrity in the discharge of their duties and announced plans to use existing whistleblowing programs to enhance transparency and integrity.
Meanwhile, the LRA Commissioner General is also calling on the Business Community to strictly adhere to the Tax Laws to enhance transparency compliance, payment processes, and procedures.
Mr. Jallah assured compliant business owners of the Government’s commitment to creating an enabling environment for their businesses to thrive.
Commissioner General Jallah promised to collaborate with the Business Community, Government officials, and the public and vowed to work towards a fair and transparent collection of domestic revenue for the development of the Country.
Commissioner General Dorbor Jallah said:” The decisions and actions at the LRA will be guided by professionalism and in the best interest of both LRA and Liberia.”
