MONROVIA, LIBERIA-The National Elections Commission (NEC) of Liberia has launched Civic and voter education activities ahead of the Nimba County Senatorial By-Election.
The ceremony began with a parade by stakeholders, and NEC Commissioner and Staff of the Lower Nimba County Magisterial Office in Tappita, through the principal streets of Tappita to the First United Methodist Church.
Speaking at the launch, the NEC Oversight Commissioner, Cllr. Ernestine Morgan-Awar called on Nimba County citizens to participate in the upcoming by-election.
Cllr. Morgan-Awar said:” Election is everybody’s business and there is a need for inclusive participation in consideration of gender and people with disabilities, among others.”
On April 23 this year, the people of Nimba County will go to the polls to elect a new Senator to replace former Senator and now Vice President, Jeremiah Koung.
