GHANA-The Government of Liberia’s Delegation in Accra, Ghana, has made steady progress on issues affecting the Liberian Community and their resettlement.
The Liberian Delegation, headed by the Deputy Foreign Minister for Legal Affairs, Jedi Armah, met with the Head of the Ghana Refugee Board, Tetteh Padi, to understand the situations affecting Liberian Refugees in Ghana.
According to a release issued recently, the Team met also with the Leadership of the Liberian Community in Buduburam, as part of an effort to dialogue and foster collaboration with relevant authorities.
The release stated that the Ghana Refugee Board promised to halt the impending lawsuit and allow a new resettlement plan to go into force.
Meanwhile, the Ghana Refugee Board has initiated a re-resettlement process for approximately two hundred sixty-one Liberians to relocate to the Cape Coast Region.
It said that the first group of fifty individuals was relocated to the new settlement, with the remainder scheduled for relocation on Monday.
