MONROVIA, LIBERIA-The Government of Liberia has constituted several committees to fast-track its National Development Agenda and review outcomes from the just-ended three-day Cabinet Retreat.
The Committees include Steering, National Coordinating Technical Coordinating, and Inter-Secretariat Coordinating Committees.
Speaking at the close of the Cabinet Retreat in Congo Town over the weekend, President Joseph Boakai urged committee members to meet the government’s goals.
Members of the Steering Committee are the Ministries of Foreign Affairs and Post and Telecommunications and the United Nations Resident Coordinator.
The National Coordinating Committee comprises the Ministries of Finance, Agriculture, Commerce, Education, and Health.
Meanwhile, President Joseph Boakai has re-echoed his commitment to improving the living conditions of Liberians.
The Liberian Leader said:” The Government is committed to improving the road network where no vehicles will get stuck in the mud.”
He, however, urged his Cabinet Ministers and other officials of his Government to provide opportunities for ordinary Liberians.
President Boakai also renewed his commitment to leverage resources available to the Government to develop the Agriculture, Health, and Educational Sectors, and promised to improve the human resource capacity of the Country to reduce the number of motorcyclists in the streets and those without capacity.
President Joseph then emphasized the need to provide basic social services to all Liberians, especially water and electricity, and urged his officials to translate the outcome of the retreat into practical actions.
