MONROVIA, LIBERIA-The Associate Magistrate at the Monrovia City Court, Lasana Kamara, has issued a petition for Writ of Ne Exeat Republica on defendant Nippy Teddy Karpeh, popularly known as Raso Daso.
Ne Exeat Republica is a writ to prevent a defendant, who is believed to be at flight risk, from leaving the country.
The writ prayed for by the Justice Ministry, said defendant Raso Daso is about to leave the country. Our Reporter said:” Based on the application, officers have been instructed to arrest and bring him before the court.”
Defendant Nippy Teddy Karpeh was arrested a few weeks ago upon his arrival from Dubai, for allegedly circulating nude videos of several Liberian women, in order to extort monies.
He was charged and forwarded to court for disseminating obscene materials, criminal coercion, and disorderly conduct, and subsequently sent to jail.
Defendant Raso Daso was released over the weekend after spending five days at the Monrovia Central Prison, and the case is expected to resume on today, Tuesday, May 28, 2024.
