MONROVIA, LIBERIA-Public Works Minister Roland Giddings has lauded the European Union (EU)’s continued support towards Liberia’s road infrastructure development.
Minister Giddings said:” The EU Has made a huge financial contribution to the ongoing Sanniquellie-Luogatuo Road Project, including the African Development Bank.”
The Public Works Minister disclosed that the Luogatuo Road Project is nearing eighty-five percent completion levels.
He described the road corridor as crucial to regional trade and integration, when he remarked on Saturday, June 1, 2024, during the EU Ambassador Nona Deprez’s courtesy visit at his office in Monrovia.
Meanwhile, EU Ambassador to Liberia Deprez said:” The EU has provided fifteen million US Dollars for the Sanniquellie-Luogatuo Road Project. In comparison, the European Investment Bank also provided seventeen million US Dollars to the project.”
Ambassador Nona noted that the EU is one of the biggest donors to Liberia’s infrastructure development over the years, adding that their support to the project is in the spirit of promoting economic development and free movement of ECOWAS citizens.
