MONROVIA, LIBERIA-Dozens of flood victims in several communities in Paynesville City are appealing to the Government of Liberia and goodwill individuals to assist them in rebuilding their lives.
The flood rendered several residents of Duport Road, Ngleh Town, and Nezoe Communities homeless, with mass destruction of their homes and personal effects.
Speaking in an ELBC interview on Monday, June 17, 2024, the residents attributed the flooding to unrestricted garbage disposal and the erection of homes in waterways.
In Ngleh Town, residents were made to pay fifty Liberian Dollars to be carried on the backs of volunteers to go across the water from one point to another.
Meanwhile, the residents are calling on the Ministry of Public Works and the Environmental Protection Agency (EPS) to intervene in the unfortunate situation.
