MONROVIA, LIBERIA-The Chinese Government has donated several essential food supplies to the National Disaster Management Agency (NDMA).
The donation includes two hundred bags of rice, forty barrels of oil, and six hundred cans of beef.
Presenting the items on Tuesday, August 6, 2024, in Monrovia, Chinese Ambassador to Liberia, Yin Chengwu, said:” The gesture is a symbol of true friendship between Liberia and China.”
Ambassador Yin emphasized China’s commitment to assist Liberia in enhancing its disaster relief capabilities.
The Chinese Ambassador to Liberia also reassured that his Country remains steadfast in its role as a dependable ally to Liberia.
Receiving the items, NDMA Executive Director Ansu Dolleh described the donation as timely.
Mr. Dolleh said:” The items will go a long way in aiding flood victims in the Country, while human capacity building, essential food supplies, and scholarships for disaster prevention remain paramount.”
Director Dolleh also craved more support to help the Agency boost disaster management efforts, and thanked the Chinese Government for the donation, assuring to distribution of the items to the needy flood victims.
Meanwhile, the Minister of State for Special Services, Samuel Stevquoah, says President Boakai remains committed to the One-China Policy.
Minister Stevquoah said:” Liberia and China have stood together and supported each other in difficult times and, as such, Liberia stands with China in all of its endeavors.”
He also expressed hope that the long-standing relationship between Liberia and China will continue to scale to noble heights.
Minister Samuel Stevquoah then thanked China for facilitating ongoing efforts by the Liberian Government to the Liberian people.
