Justice Ministry Releases Investigative Report from Bea Mountain Mining Company Incident…

MONROVIA, LIBERIA-The Civilian Complaint Review Board of Liberia says the Board has received an investigative report from the Justice Ministry on the incident at Bea Mountain Mining sites in Kinjor, Grand Cape Mount County.

The Board was established in 2016 by an Act of Legislation to promote adherence to human rights, professionalism, discipline, transparency, and accountability within the Liberia National Police and Liberia Immigration Service (LIS).

Speaking at a news conference on Wednesday, August 7, 2024, in Monrovia, the Chairman of the Board, Cllr. Sylvester Rennie, said:” The Board is reviewing the report and will make the necessary recommendations to the Justice Ministry in the coming days.”

Cllr. Rennie disclosed that the Board has also received an investigative report on the recent incident in Caldwell, involving a civilian and some employees of the Liberia Electricity Cooperation (LEC).

Meanwhile, Cllr. Sylvester Rennie has assured the public of the Board’s commitment to making an impartial determination on the reports.
