MONROVIA, LIBERIA-The National Patriotic Party (NPP), through its embattled National Chairman, George Mulbah, has filed a Writ of Mandamus against the National Elections Commission (NEC) before the Justice in Chamber of the Supreme Court of Liberia.
A Writ of Mandamus is a legal instrument used by courts of superior jurisdiction to compel the performance of a specific act refused by a lower court.
The James Biney faction of the NPP argued that consistent with September 18, 2020 ruling from the Civil Law Court, they were recognized as legitimate and legal authorities to transact business on behalf of the Party.
But, in a four-count petition, the NPP’s embattled George Mulbah Faction alleged that the NEC has refused to recognize or interact with his leadership as mandated by the Supreme Court.
Meanwhile, the parties have been invited to a conference e on Wednesday, August 28 before the Presiding Justice in Chambers, Yusif Kaba.
