NEW YORK, USA-President Joseph Boakai has reaffirmed Liberia’s support for upholding the principles of peace, security, human rights, and democracy.

President Boakai also said that being a member of the Security Council would further deepen Liberia’s commitment to upholding the values enshrined in the UN Charter.
He then called for the collective support of the UN, partners, and citizens at home and abroad to realize this goal.

President Boakai said the citizens’ renewed vigor and dedication to fostering a culture of peace has been a driving force for Liberia’s thriving democracy.
He made the remarks on Friday, September 27, 2024, when the Liberian Government officially launched Liberia’s bid for a Non-Permanent Seat on the UN Security Council in New York, the United States.
