White Plains Township Commissioner Calls for Increased Police Presence…..

by Maximilian K. Kasseh jr

MONTSERRADO COUNTY, LIBERIA-The Township Commissioner of White Plains, Montserrado County, is calling on the Liberia National Police (LNP) to provide additional police officers to help curb the increasing wave of criminal activities in the area.

Mr. Wilson Kanasuah said:” The White Plains Police Depot has only four assigned officers serving a community of more than eight thousand inhabitants.”

Our Correspondent quotes Mr. Kanasuah as saying due to inadequate police officers, criminals usually infiltrate the community at night and escape without hindrance.

Mr. Kanasuah believes that when additional officers are provided, it will increase security presence, especially at night, and drastically reduce the rate of crimes in the township.

It can be recalled that a young man murdered his girlfriend and child weeks ago in the same vicinity and ran away, but was later arrested and taken into police custody.
