MONROVIA, LIBERIA-Vice President Jeremiah Koung has reaffirmed the Government of Liberia’s unwavering commitment to fairness, integrity and continued pursuit of excellence in public service.
Vice President Koung said:” The Government remains firm in strengthening the civil service, which is key to improving public service delivery for the citizenry.”
The Vice President made the commitment on Thursday, October 31,2024, at the official launch of the National Civil Service Testing Center in Congo.
VP Koung said the Center will enhance the credibility of the Government’s recruitment process, and lauded the Civil Service Agency for the farsightedness in developing the system, and called for the full utilization of the facility.
Meanwhile, the Civil Service Agency’s Director General, Josiah Joekai, said:” The automated Testing Center is crucial to fostering equitable and merit-based recruitment environment, and that the system will address prior vulnerabilities in the Government’s recruitment process, such as potential biases and inconsistences, ensuring fair and objective evaluation of every candidate.”
He noted that new testing model also reinforces the need for civil servants to possess the requisite skills and expertise to advance public administration and effectively serve the Country.
Mr. Joekai reiterated that the inauguration of the Testing Center is not just a physical achievement, but also a shared step forward in building a transparent, skilled and accountable Public Sector.
The new automated National Civil Service Testing Center comprises modern equipment to aid government ensure a merit-based recruitment exercise.
