MONROVIA, LIBERIA-Liberia is spearheading a campaign to garner support from external partners aimed at promoting community cohesion and fostering negotiated political solutions to the instability affecting some ECOWAS member states and the African Continent as a whole.
Addressing the first Ministering Conference of the Russia-Africa Partnership Forum, Deputy Foreign Minister, Dr. Ibrahim Nyei, highlighted the challenges in resolving conflicts within certain member states, noting that it has become increasingly complex.
Minister Nyei said:” The difficulties do not stem from lack of willingness to negotiate, instead, the conflicts have become more complicated, often influenced by proxy wars. While Liberia advocates for African solutions to African problems, it recognizes the important role that external partners can play in facilitating the process.”
He also announced Liberia’s candidacy for a non-permanent seat on the on the UN Security Council, underscoring the country’s commitment to contributing to global peace and security.
