Liberian Gov. Unveils Suspected Subversive Activities Recruitment…

MONROVIA, LIBERIA-The Liberian Government has disclosed that suspected recruitment activities of Liberians, particularly ex-fighters for subversive activities in neighboring Guinea.

The Minister of Information, Jerolinmek Piah said:” Based on intelligence concerning the matter, the Government earlier arrested the suspected organizer of the recruitment process identified as Ibrahim Khalil Cherif, and handed him over the Guinean Authorities.”

Minister Piah noted that the Government’s actions were taken in the interest of national security, the safety of its citizens and to prevent a recurrence of the nation’s troubled past.

He also reaffirmed the Government’s commitment to upholding its constitutional duties to protect citizens and foreign residents alike, while maintaining the spirit and cordiality of good neighborliness.

Information Minister Jerolinmek Piah was speaking on Tuesday, November 12,2024, at the Ministry of Information, Culture and Tourism’s (MICAT) Regular Press Briefing in Monrovia.
