Asphalt Pavement of 30 Km Road between Saclepea-Tappita Completed in Nimba County

MONROVIA, LIBERIA-The Asphalt pavement of over 30 kilometers of road between Saclepea to Tappita in Nimba County has been completed.

According to the Public Works Ministry, an additional base coursework is rapidly approaching Tappita City, as part of the Government’s robust rehabilitation for the Dry Season.

The road work is a 61-kilometer World Bank-funded project named:” Southeastern Corridor Road Asset Management Phase-Two Project” by China Seventh Group with Sari serving as a consultant.

A Public Works release disclosed that a high-level team headed by Deputy Public Works Minister for Technical Services, Prince Tamba, inspected maintenance works along the Tappita to Zwedru Corridor, aimed at stabilizing the corridor ahead of the next Rainy Season.

Minister Tamba cautioned the contractors maintaining the road against the use of unsuitable borrowed materials and ordered the removal of a 350-meter-long critical section.

According to him, the move is to sustainably end the perennial challenge the area has faced over the last fifteen years.

Meanwhile, the Government, through the Public Works Ministry, continues to place road connectivity at the top of its development programs to improve Road Development and Transport Facilitation efforts.
