MONROVIA, LIBERIA-The Government of Liberia has consoled the Government and people of Guinea following the tragic death of at least fifty-six persons, due to the recent controversial refereeing decision during a soccer match between N’zérékoré and Labe.
In his message to his Guinean Counterpart, General Mamadi Doumbouya, President Joseph Boakai expressed profound sadness over the passing of the fifty-six persons.
A Foreign Ministry release issued Thursday, December 5, 2024, said President Boakai, on behalf of the Government and people of Liberia, extended deepest condolences to the Government and people of Guinea, especially the bereaved families for the irreparable loss.
The Liberia Leader prayed that God would grant the people of Guinea the strength and resilience needed to navigate through this difficult period of national mourning.
