NTA Launches Affordable Transport Services Between Liberia and Sierra Leone

Monrovia Liberia – Liberians will begin to travel to Sierra Leone soon using the National Transit Authority buses as a means of easing commercial transactions.

The NTA buses will also begin transport services to neighboring Ivory Coast by next Month via Maryland County.

According to NTA Managing Director Herbie McCauley, the decision to begin transport to Sierra Leone followed an agreement between the two governments.

According to him, fare for a round trip to Sierra Leone is as low as US$ 40 or its Liberian dollar equivalent.

The latest announcement from the National Transit Authority is expected to generate interest from many Liberians and Sierra Leoneans who ply the route regularly.

It is also expected to enhance cross border trade between the two countries and by extension, the Mano River Union countries, Liberia, Sierra Leone, Guinea and Ivory Coast.

Mr. McCauley also disclosed that the NTA will be offering about 125 scholarships to students in the Community it operates, as part of its corporate social responsibility.

The NTA Boss also said his entity will provide about sixty vacation jobs with fifteen of those coming directly from the NTA community in Gardnerville.
