MONROVIA, LIBERIA-The West African Examination Council (WAEC) says the ongoing private candidates test for 2025 is experiencing low registration.
According to Kadul Kangar of the Test Administration Division of WAEC, though the process is ongoing, the number of candidates who have registered for now is not encouraging.
Mr. Kangar said:” The private candidate test is intended to be administered to individuals who failed in any of the nine subjects.”
Mr. Kangar attributed the low registration of candidates to the introduction of the biometric system, which is concentrated only at WAEC Headquarters in Congo Town.
For his part, the Head of WAEC’s Finance Division, Joel Yardolo, disclosed that candidates sitting one to five subjects are charged eight thousand Liberian dollars, while individuals above five subjects pay twelve thousand Liberian dollars for the test.
