Liberia’s Asset Recovery Taskforce Initiates Series of Investigations…

MONROVIA, LIBERIA-The Asset Recovery and Retrieval Taskforce says it has initiated a series of investigations of over seventeen high-profile cases in the country.

These cases include the theft of public and liquid assets, theft through fake road companies, and acquisition of suspicious property, among others.

The disclosure was made by the Asset Recovery and Property Retrieval Taskforce Head, Cllr. Edwin Kla Martin at MICAT Press Briefing on Thursday, February 20, 2025, in Monrovia.

Cllr. Martin said:” These ongoing investigations are intended to retrieve the Government of Liberia’s stolen assets and reduce corruption in the public sector.”

According to him, the task force, through its intelligence unit, has, over the past month, obtained sufficient evidence to go after people and institutions captured in their database.

Meanwhile, Cllr. Martin has disclosed partnering with several international corporations to aid the task force execute its mandate.
