MONROVIA, LIBERIA-Montserrado County Senator Abraham Darius Dillon wants the ongoing restriction on commercial motorbikes to remain enforced.
Last month, the Liberia National Police (LNP) placed a restriction on commercial motorbikes, banning them from plying the streets to Central Monrovia.
It followed a violent protest by some commercial motorcyclists after a truck lost control and killed a motorcyclist along the Johnson Street Bridge.
In an interview on the Super Morning Show on ELBC Radio on Monday morning, March 10, 2025, Senator Dillon said,” Despite numerous concerns, the restriction is necessary to create law and order.”
He urged motorcyclists affected by the restriction to see it as a measure put in place by the government to protect lives.
Senator Darius Dillon said that while motorcyclists played a pivotal role in electing the government, it was time for the country to be governed through a system.
At the same time, the Montserrado County Lawmaker has denied social media reports concerning the removal of Senate Pro-tempt Nyonblee Karngar-Lawrence
Senator Dillon noted that while there are issues among Senators in the Upper House, such issues do not call for the removal of the Senate Pro-tempt.
Meanwhile, the Montserrado County Senator has urged Liberians to desist from spreading disinformation to the public.
Senator Darius Dillon believes that working together as a team will ensure a smooth working environment.
