MONROVIA, LIBERIA-President Joseph Boakai has described the death of Pope Francis as a major loss not only to the Catholic Church, but to the entire world.
President Boakai said,” Pope Francis was a humble and respectful man whose leadership was filled with compassion and commitment to supporting people of all colors.”
The Liberian Leader commented on Thursday, April 24, 2025, in Monrovia, when he had gone to sign the Book of Condolence of the late Roman Catholic Pope.
President Boakai remembered the late Pope as an advocate of peace, social justice, and a man who worked tirelessly to bridge divides among people of different faiths and backgrounds.
The Liberian Leader was accompanied at the signing ceremony by the Minister of State for Presidential Affairs, Sylvester Grigsby, Minister of Information Jerolinmek Piah, and Internal Affairs Minister Francis Nyumalin, among others.
