MONROVIA, LIBERIA-The National Chairman of the National Patriotic Party (NPP) has sharply criticized opposition political rhetoric that undermines the peace and stability of the country.
Atty. George Mulbah said,” The country’s democracy can once again win the admiration of the world, if the opposition community in Liberia criticizes or opposes the government without sowing seeds of chaos.”
The NPP National Chairman stated that in collaboration with the PUP and the LPDP, a new approach to hold the government accountable without protest or divisive politics is being formulated.
Atty. Mulbah urged President Joseph Boakai to reach out to key opposition figures, including former President George Weah and ANC Political Leader Alexander Cummings, to foster peace and national unity.
The NPP National Chairman’s criticism comes from threats made by former Vice President Jewel Howard-Taylor and other opposition figures to turn the country chaotic and ungovernable.
The NPP National Chairman also clarified that the Party’s National Executive Committee made the overwhelming decision to support Representative Samuel Kogar in the recent Senatorial By-election in Nimba County.
