MONROVIA, LIBERIA-The Liberia Agriculture Commodity Regulatory Authority (LACRA) has dedicated major projects geared towards boosting the efficiency and productivity of the institution.

The projects include the unveiling of two brand new, twenty-three-seated buses, eleven high-quality motorbikes, a Land Cruiser, and the installation of a 100-kilowatt transformer.

Others include the refurbishment of major offices, the procurement of a 45 KVA generator, and the construction of additional bathrooms, a furnished security booth, among others.

At the unveiling ceremony on Tuesday in Monrovia, LACRA Director General Christopher Sankolo said:” The move is to position the entity as a major contributor to the government’s ARREST Agenda through effective monitoring and oversight.

Mr. Sankolo said that providing the necessary materials and logistical support is key to the effective operations of LACRA.

The LACRA Boss, however, called on employees of the institution to roll up their sleeves as the entity will continue to champion their needs and aspirations.

Meanwhile, the Senate Committee Chair on Agriculture and Forestry, Wellington Geevon Smith, has assured LACRA of increased budgetary allotment and technical support.

Senator Smith said,” Such support to agricultural institutions is one of the surest ways to leverage development and tackle poverty.”

He told LACRA staff on Tuesday, April 29, 2025, that the Senate Committees on Banking and Judiciary are currently reviewing a bill for the establishment of an agriculture enterprise development bank in Liberia.

The Rivercess Lawmaker said:” Once the legislation is passed, it will enable farmers across the country to have access to finance and loans. Agriculture financing is an enabler for economic growth, boosting local production, and building a green economy.”

Senator Wellington Geevon Smith was speaking on Tuesday, April 29, 2025, when the Liberia Agriculture Commodity Regulatory Authority unveiled several equipment for the operations of the entity.
