“Gov. of Liberia Remains Positive of Being Elected Non-Permanent Member of UN Security Council”-Minister Piah

MONROVIA, LIBERIA-The Government of Liberia says it remains positive about being elected as a non-permanent member on the UN Security Council.

 

Information Minister Jerolinmek Piah disclosed that the government remains engaged with the relevant UN Security Council constituents to ensure that such a vision is materialized.

 

Speaking in an interview on Monday, May 19, 2025, Minister Piah emphasized the government’s ongoing preparatory efforts in meeting the stipulated time frame for the requirements leading up to the election date.

 

According to Minister Piah, the country is poised to benefit immensely if Liberia gets elected as non-permanent member on the UN Security Council.

 

The Information Boss is, however, rallying the support of national and local leaders, civil society actors, and international partners, emphasizing that such support is crucial in aiding the government to achieve this goal.
