Monrovia, Liberia – The Commissioner General of the Liberia Immigration Service, Robert W. Budy, Sr wants foreign residents in the country to always live within the confines of the law.
Commissioner Budy said abiding by the rule of law is the surest way foreign residents can be guaranteed a happy stay in Liberia.
He was speaking recently during a meeting with the Nigerian Community including Chiefs and Elders residing in Liberia.
At the gathering, Commissioner Budy informed the Nigerian Community that his office is open to the public if there are concerns on issues that require his attention.
The Commissioner General also used the opportunity to formally inform the community of the appointment of a Liaison who will coordinate matters between his office and the Nigerian Community in Liberia.
The overall objective of the meeting was to address many concerns of the Nigerian Community including the procurement of Immigration related documents.
It looked at issues of naturalization, the status of Nigerians residing in Liberia without legal documents, human trafficking and fee for processing among others.
The meeting was also part of the Liberia Immigration Service Nationwide Outreach Program which is being implemented through the Naturalization Department headed by Atty. Asatu Bah-Kenneth.
