by Administrator

MONROVIA, LIBERIA-The Government of Turkey has dispatched an Emergency Accident Response Team to the Roberts International Airport (RIA) in Lower Margibi County, Liberia.

The move is in fulfillment of a commitment made by the President of Turkey, Recep Tayyip Erdogan, during a diplomatic engagement with Liberia’s Foreign Minister Sara Beysolow-Nyanti in April this year.

The team, led by Altan Yasar Tekin, has been sent to investigate the unfortunate incident that occurred on May 29 at the RIA.

According to a Foreign Ministry release issued recently, the swift intervention underscores Turkey’s dedication to strengthening bilateral ties and supporting critical infrastructure development in Liberia.

The release added that the deployment precedes a scheduled visit by a high-level seven-member Turkish delegation set for June 10 to the 13th.

The delegation will conduct a comprehensive assessment of the RIA’s operational capacity.
