Several Institutions Benefit from ‘Weah All Stars’ Donation

Monrovia, Liberia – More than fourteen institutions, mainly the disabled, underprivileged, health centers and orphanages are benefitting from donation of assorted items including food from Weah All Stars (WAS).

‘WAS’ is a group of former National Football Team, Lone Star Players under the guidance of former FIFA World Player of the Year now President of Liberia, George Manneh Weah.

Food and non-food items including rice, sardines, Oil and coronavirus preventive materials are being donated to those institutions by the All Stars.

The institutions are the Liberian Government Hospital in Buchanan, Grand Bassa County, Liberia Children Rescue and Education orphanage home and the Charles Edward Britt old folks home in Margibi among others.

According to the Treasurer of the Weah All Stars Coronavirus Awareness Committee, Adama Momolu, the initiative is part of the recently launched Weah Project which aims at catering to the less fortunate while staying home.

Speaking to ELBC Wednesday, Mr. Momolu urged all Liberians to respect all safety measures because it is the surest way to break the chain of transmission and defeat coronavirus in Liberia.

Currently Liberia has recorded 73 total cases, 4 recoveries and 6 deaths, leaving a total of 63 active cases.

Since April 10, 2020, the country has been in a lockdown for 21 days as part of a State of Emergency declared by President George Weah to help fight the coronavirus scourge.
