Executive Mansion Breaks Silence over Cllr. Ndubusi Nwabudike’s Citizenship

MONROVIA, LIBERIA – The Executive Mansion has disclosed it is reserving decision over the citizenship of the Head of the Liberia Anti-Corruption Commission, Cllr. Ndubusi Nwabudike, until a final ruling by the Supreme Court.

Recently, Cllr. Nwabudike filed a writ of prohibition to the Justice in Chambers at the Supreme Court to prevent his expulsion by the Liberian National Bar Association over his citizenship.

The legal battle over the citizenship of the LACCHead has created mixed feelings amongst some citizens, with some calling for his removalbefore a final ruling from the high court.

But, speaking to ELBC Wednesday, Presidential Press Secretary, Solo Kelgbeh, said dismissing Cllr. Nwabudike before a decision from the Court would be illegal because he isserving a tenure position.

Mr. Kelgbeh said it is only the court that can determine the citizenship of Cllr. Nwabudike after serving several positions in previous governments.

The Presidential Press Secretary said any decision taken by President Weah concerning the LACC Boss will not be based on public sentiments but in line with the Constitution.
