GRAND CAPE MOUNT COUNTY, LIBERIA-Latest reports say scores of Sierra Leoneans are said to be using the illegal crossing point to enter Liberia, to participate in the ongoing Voter Roll Update in Grand Cape Mount County.
According to ELBC Grand Cape Mount County Correspondent, the Sierra Leoneans are using the border town of Jene with Sierra Leone.
Our Correspondent is quoted as saying the influx of Sierra Leoneans has sparked tension amongst supporters of Senatorial hopefuls in the County.
The supporters of Collaborating Political Parties (CPP) Senatorial candidate, Simeon Taylor and Representative Emerson Kumara, are accusing incumbent Senator Victor Watson of trucking thousands of Sierra Leoneans to form part of the ongoing Voter Roll Update.
Though Senator Watson has since denied his involvement, ELBC investigation has revealed that Sierra Leoneans are still crossing into Liberia, as two buses conveying individuals from Monrovia were prevented from entering the County.
Investigation continues.
