MONROVIA, LIBERIA-The National Elections Commission (NEC) Chairperson, Davidetta Browne-Lansanah, says the representative By-Elections for Montserrado and Sinoe Counties will be held on December 8, 2020.
Madam Browne-Lansanah disclosed that the decision followed a communication NEC received from the House of Representatives on Thursday, September 10, 2020, about two vacancies in the Lower House.
She quotes the communication as saying the vacancies were created by the deaths of Representatives Nagbe Sloh of Sinoe County and Munah Pelham Youngblood of Montserrado County.
Madam Browne-Lansanah made the disclosure Tuesday, September 15, 2020, at a press conference in Monrovia.
Meanwhile, the NEC Chairperson said the Voter Roll Update exercise, which started on September 11, 2020, is currently ongoing across Liberia.
